Slow-Cooked Pulled Pork

It looks unappetizing, but this is seriously one of the easiest and yummiest meals to make ever! I got the recipe from allrecipes.com.

Ingredients:
  1. 1.5kg of pork (I paid $43 for 3kg of pork butt aka pork shoulder)
  2. 500ml - 750ml of A & W Root Beer
  3. 1 bottle of Heinz BBQ Sauce (Regular)
Steps:
  1. Wash pork and place it in the slow cooker.
  2. Pour in root beer.
  3. Cook on high for 5-6 hours.
  4. Remove pork.
  5. Shred using fork(s).
  6. Pour away root beer.
  7. Put shredded pork back in slow cooker.
  8. Pour BBQ sauce and mix it into the pork. (I added mixed herbs and chili flakes as well.)
  9. Cook on high for 1 hour.
Serving Suggestions:
  • 1.5kg of pork can serve 12-15 people.
  • You can serve it on toasted buns (with coleslaw as recommended), use it as a filling for wraps (with lettuce or alfalfa sprouts, which we had), or even stir it into risotto.
