TCC (The Coffee Connoisseur)

The food is pricey and parking can be expensive but I love visiting the outlet at T3 (Changi Airport). It's quiet with soothing music playing in the background, is opened around the clock and if you have a laptop, there's free wireless internet connection! Triple bonus!

One of my main staples has got to be its Minty Pumpkin Soup. It's definitely one of the best I've tried in my entire life so far (I'm waiting for the day I get to have pumpkin soup with truffle shavings). This is something that's new on their menu but it's oh-so-yummy. The Warm Asparagus Ragout Salad has lovely grilled tomatoes, eggplant, asparagus and the ragout is sandwiched between two puff pastry pieces.
They also have an interesting offering of drinks. I'm sipping Cocoa Divine Tea as I type and it does smell a lot like chocolate.

After a hectic day at work, spending time here has made me a happy person now. :)

Crepes di spinaci

You can find this at the stall named Pizza Pazza, located at Anchorpoint's Koufu, 370 Alexandra Road. It costs about $6 and you should share it with someone else because the cream can render the dish rather jelak ((Malay for overwhelming).

My fave Zi Char stall

I've been eating at this place for the past five to six years and it has never failed to disappoint.Featured below are the Fish Slices with Assam sauce and Mongolian Pork Ribs.I'm also in love with their Fish Head Curry (which I ask for with loads of vegetables), Prawn in Melon Bowl and Double Boiled Soups (only available on the weekends). They often come up with new dishes too. I was particularly fond of the stuffed chicken wings.

The dishes pictured above, together with a bowl of vegetable soup, cost about $20.

The stall's located at 326 Serangoon Avenue 3 (S) 550326, but it's the one that's closer to the Serangoon NEL (It's the one that's furthest away from the 7-11).

Hongkong Street Chun Kee

The fish beehoon gets the thumbs up but the prawn paste chicken at Bao Gong is a lot better. We spent about $16 for the chicken and two bowls of noodles.

Johnson Duck

I eat this at least twice a month. There used to be a branch in Serangoon Gardens, but now I only get to eat it at Ghim Moh Market.

Mum's Cooking

Just had to feature this. I haven't been eating at home for the longest time. Mum made three dishes for dinner today.
  1. Fish with tomatoes and capsicum
  2. Stir-fried cabbage
  3. Pork rib soup with Wai Sun (淮山)
Wai Sun (淮山, Dioscoreae Oppositae, Chinese wild yam, nagaimo, or Japanese mountain yam), is traditionally used as a tonic for the kidney-bladder and spleen-pancreas-stomach organ networks and to improve hormonal and digestive functions. It is rich in DHEA and can be used to stabilize blood sugar, relieve inflammation and relax muscle spasms.

Raffles Mooncakes

My take. Lovely to eat, but not worth the $52. Then again, I'm not a fan of mooncakes.
